The enthusiasm of Year 7 students has given our first inter-house event of this school year a flying start. Their energy and teamwork set a wonderful benchmark, and we look forward to seeing more cheering and sportsmanship from other year groups throughout September.

Our Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) programme offers over 120 opportunities this term. This week, students brought great energy and passion to their initial sessions. More than 130 student leaders have taken on roles to guide activities, mentor younger peers, and make a meaningful impact across our community.

This week, we visited the CAD Development & 3D Printing group to view their technical designs, Cooking 101 for their culinary passion, and Cryptography to see code-breaking in action. Meanwhile, the Geography Society and Maths Competition Club engaged students in global problem-solving and analytical challenges, showcasing our community's diverse talents.

The Hockey and Senior Boys Volleyball groups filled the Arena and the Cage with dynamic spirit. We look forward to seeing a similar level of energy across all CAS sporting activities in the coming weeks.

Service
Students collaborating with community partners, including Bethune House, Hong Kong Shark Foundation, IBEL and KELY Support Group, have started brainstorming and planning events for the year ahead. Their collective efforts focus on creating meaningful community initiatives and driving positive social impact across Hong Kong.

On Tuesday, teachers and the Principal from Kennedy School visited our campus to reconnect with our Year 7 students as they settle into secondary school life. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to share their early experiences and celebrate their transition and the strong sense of continuity and belonging in the ESF family.

Our Higher Education and Careers team provides tailored support to guide students along their unique pathways. Students can receive personalised advice during drop-in sessions at the G&A Hot Desk during the upcoming sessions on Week A Thursday Period 2 and Week B Friday Period 3.
On Monday, university admissions teams visited our Guidance and Achievement (G&A) space for a pop-up Higher Education Fair. Students explored global pathways, providing great preparation for next week’s full University Fair.

On Monday, our U16 Girls netball team brought fantastic energy to the court, securing a comfortable win to kick-start their season.

Year 13 student Haidi secured third place at the Challenge Cup Fencing Championships. On Tuesday, Haidi attended the Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 20th Asian Games. We wish her the best of luck for her next competition.
Year 11 student Bernie was recently selected for the Hong Kong Under-15 Representative Football Team. Competing at the Phoenix Cup International Football Elite Youth Tournament 2026 in Chengdu, Bernie and his teammates played against top club teams from Mainland China and Vietnam. The Hong Kong squad delivered strong performances throughout the competition to secure the First Runner-up title.
Year 9 student Lily achieved outstanding results in recent artistic swimming competitions. She secured First Runner-up in the Local Free Team event (Age 13–15 group) at the Pan Asia Artistic Swimming Championships cum 22nd Hong Kong Artistic Swimming Open Competition 2026. She also earned 6th place in the Free Duet Routine at the Hong Kong Artistic Swimming Routine Competition 2026.

Our Higher Education and Careers team is hosting our annual University Fair, welcoming representatives from over 130 universities across 16 countries.

Over 220 musicians from seven schools will take the stage at A Night at the Movies, performing music from film, television and musical theatre, with performances from orchestras, bands and choirs. Highlights include performances by the ESF Composition Contest and ESF Piano Concerto Competition winners, and a world premiere by the Senior Choir.
