Weekly Highlights
Book Week is our annual celebration of literature, reading, and literacy. This week, we saw the entire school community relish the opportunity to celebrate and share books and discuss inspiring characters. Well done to our students on developing their reading confidence.
On Monday, students and staff had a “Drop Everything and Read” session to immerse themselves in the quiet focus and personal escape of a good book.
Tuesday was the Literary Quiz that tested our students' knowledge of their favourite books and authors.
On Wednesday, students wrote their short yet powerful stories and came together to design their own bookmarks inspired by classic stories and characters.
Our Character Dress-up Day on Thursday brought to life everyone’s favourite literary figures. We look forward to sharing more photos in our next newsletter.
We were delighted to welcome Year 7 parents into school recently for a series of engaging presentations, where students proudly shared their learning from their Individuals and Societies home investigations alongside their parents.
Throughout the unit, students completed a range of real-world tasks across Hong Kong, including exploring places of worship, navigating the MTR, comparing food systems and visiting historical and cultural sites. Each task was designed to develop Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and IB Learner Profile attributes, encouraging students to become balanced, reflective and confident risk-takers.
Students and parents presented together, reflecting on their learning journey as a team. For example, one group explained how visiting a wet market helped them understand food systems and how global supply chains connect Hong Kong to the wider world. Students made thoughtful links to the curriculum, connecting their experiences to key concepts such as culture, global interactions and sustainability. It was fantastic to see such confident communication and a powerful connection between classroom knowledge and real-life experiences.
At Tuesday’s Dynasty Assembly, we celebrated our students' inter-house achievements. Students enjoyed the chance to get together and strengthen their bonds. The assembly provided dedicated time for them to prioritise their wellbeing.
Our Year 12 IB Spanish students recently traded textbooks for tapas. This cultural immersion trip allowed students to engage with Spanish customs and language in a real-world setting.
It was a fantastic afternoon of culture and community. The experience left everyone with a deeper appreciation for the Hispanic world and a very satisfied appetite.
