Run by a dedicated group of enthusiastic Year 12 students, this fantastic event was another brilliant success driven by the collective effort of our community. Well done to all the student participants, and a huge thank you to the teachers and staff who supported the event behind the scenes.
As the home of the ESF Evening of Dance, our Auditorium gathered talented student dancers from ESF schools on Wednesday.
Performers from each school displayed exceptional energy and artistry on stage, wowed the audience with every routine. It was our absolute privilege to host this spectacular event, bringing our wider ESF community together to celebrate the power of dance and creative expression.
On Thursday, our Years 7 and 8 MYP Student-Led Conferences celebrated our students taking ownership of their learning, sharing their achievements, and reflecting on their growth throughout the Middle Years Programme (MYP).
Thank you to all the parents who made themselves available to attend this event to listen to their children share their academic progress and wider learning journey.
On Tuesday, Year 12 IB Chemistry students completed their Internal Assessment (IA) practicals. The Chemistry IA is a rigorous, independent research project requiring students to design, execute, and analyse their own scientific investigations. It marks a critical milestone, accounting for 20% of their final IB Chemistry grade.
These 58 young scientists, fully immersed in university-level research, focused exclusively on hands-on data collection. From measuring reaction kinetics to analysing electrochemical cells, students proactively troubleshot unexpected reactions, refined their techniques, and truly experienced the trial-and-error nature of real-world scientific inquiry. The focus, resilience and collaborative spirit on display throughout the day were incredibly impressive.
A huge thank you to the Chemistry Department and our laboratory technicians for their immense support in setting up and guiding the students through such a successful day of discovery. We cannot wait to see their findings come together in their final reports.
Last Friday afternoon was our IB Visual Arts Exhibition, showcasing the work of our Year 12 students. Our Visual Arts studio was turned into an inspiring gallery full of thought-provoking discussion and artistic discovery.
We are proud of our Year 12 artists for the confidence they showed when presenting their pieces. Their parents' attendance at the exhibition offered a wonderful amount of support, and we thank our families who came to celebrate our students' creative achievements.
In preparation for the interschool Spanish Speech Competition next week, our students have been rehearsing their merengue dance and drama performance. Under the expert guidance of our Spanish and Creative Arts teachers, they have fully immersed themselves in the vibrant culture and language to bring their piece to life. We look forward to seeing them shine on stage next week.
In Individuals and Societies (I&S), Year 8 students engaged in a creative "Aliens vs. Humans" mock trial, debating humanity’s environmental impact. Students developed key ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills, acting as inquirers to research evidence and risk-takers during intense courtroom cross-examinations. The simulation was a fantastic, collaborative success, teaching students to evaluate multiple perspectives while strengthening their teamwork and communication.
On Tuesday night, our Year 11 students came together for a formal evening to celebrate the end of their Pre-16 journey. The event was a wonderful reflection of their continuous growth and shared memories. As our Year 11 students prepare to step into the next stage of their academic journey, we wish them the very best of luck with their I/GCSE results and their Post-16 studies next academic year.
