Weekly Highlights
Last weekend, 60 WIS students competed in the Regional Round of the World Scholar's Cup. With over 600 scholars from 20 schools participating, our students’ success was no small feat. WIS brought home a remarkable 191 gold medals, 145 silver medals, 17 trophies, and 60 fluffy alpacas. Most impressively, every single team has qualified for the Kuala Lumpur Global Round.

Quoi de neuf cette semaine? Watch this video to discover the fun activities we did to celebrate French-speaking cultures and communities.
Our students were fully immersed in activities celebrating French‑speaking cultures. Through games, workshops, crêpe‑making, movie screenings and singing, they are developing communication skills, creativity, collaboration and cultural awareness while discovering fun ways of learning a language.
Year 10 French students had a stirringly good time perfecting their flipping skills and mastering the art of the crêpe. This hands-on workshop allowed students to practice their French vocabulary in a tasty setting.
A team of five students from Years 9 and 11 emerged victorious in the teenager category at the Francophone Football Competition, organised by the French Consulate on 15 March.
Congratulations to our Year 9 student Raef and Year 11 students—Jacob, Ilias, Taku, and Malachi—for their fantastic performance.
Our Year 9 students recently immersed themselves in the rhythms of 'El Merengue' from the Dominican Republic. Beyond learning the steps with great enthusiasm, they explored the rich cultural traditions behind this iconic dance. This experience offered a wonderful opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning with the vibrant spirit of the Spanish-speaking world.
Wednesday night’s Evening of Dance and Theatre featured the creative work of our Dance, Theatre and CAS students.
Well done to our students for their dedication and consistent effort. Thank you to our supportive families for being in the audience, empowering our students to perform with confidence.

Following last week’s Inter-Dynasty cricket matches, the momentum continued this week with a series of friendly futsal competitions between Year 12 and 13 students. We look forward to seeing the Middle School students bring their energy in next week’s games.
Our new cohort of Student Ambassadors has begun their training. This week, they put their organisational and communication skills into practice by leading mock campus tours.
A huge well done to our current Student Ambassadors, who have done a fantastic job mentoring the newcomers and leveraging their own leadership experience to guide the next generation of WIS representatives. We look forward to seeing our new ambassadors in action soon.
Today, our Youth For Nature Ambassadors presented to Year 7 in their assembly to highlight the importance of biodiversity and introduced the annual "Voices for the Planet" challenge. Students are invited to create works across five different mediums to advocate for the natural world.
In collaboration with LumiVoce—a Section 88 charity whose mission is to inspire youth to express and advocate for biodiversity through the arts—our Ambassadors invite students to sign up using this link.
You can also learn more about the importance of biodiversity and this year's theme, "Magic Paws and Claws," through their presentation.
