We were delighted to welcome Year 6 students from across ESF and other primary schools as they prepare to join our Year 7 cohort in August.
Over two exciting days, the students experienced life as WIS learners—actively participating in taster lessons, following our timetable, and perhaps most enjoyably, exploring the campus and sampling food from the canteen. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and purpose, with positive feedback from both students and their parents.
A special highlight came from the Kennedy School Year 6 students, who impressed us with their creativity and thoughtful expression during their first Year 7 art lesson. Using collage, they explored the theme of Identity, combining words and numbers to communicate their unique perspectives.
We were also honoured to be joined on Wednesday by Belinda Greer, CEO of ESF, who warmly welcomed the students and visited several of their lessons.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and student ambassadors who helped make this transition experience so meaningful. We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students back in August as they continue their journey with us.
Three student leadership teams came together this week to develop a new approach to student voice, ensuring every student has the opportunity to share feedback.
Our Year 12 Head Students, Year 10 Student Leaders and Student Voice Ambassadors have identified key focus areas during their first meeting. They will continue to meet regularly to share updates and explore innovative ways to communicate feedback across the school community.
Thank you to all the students and teachers who are contributing their ideas to strengthen the visibility and impact of student voice.
Watch this space for creative new ways to gather and share student perspectives!
Our students have achieved outstanding results in the 76th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (Chinese Speech), competing against both local and international school students. Their dedication and talent have shone through, with the following positions and awards:
2nd Prize Winner: Alexa Santos (Year 8)
Merit Awards: Muyao Xing (Year 10), Everly Fung (Year 8), Aimee Yuan (Year 9), Rylee Santos (Year 8)
These incredible achievements not only demonstrate our students' proficiency in the Chinese language but also highlight their exceptional bilingual abilities.
A group of our Year 12 students have won 1st place in Hong Kong and an honourable mention worldwide at the Purple Comet Math Meet. This competition challenged our students to solve questions creatively.
The participating students have expressed that working together made this journey rewarding and enjoyable. They are very grateful for their teachers' unwavering support and encouragement.
Well done to Eric Shum, Gabriel Yuen, Aiden Pun, Reyansh Shah and Yiu Li!
Year 11 Anya Law won the Elementary Division Championship at the EFHKC Dressage Horse of the Year Show 2025 — the final event of the 2024/2025 competition season.
Year 12 student Vedant Banerji achieved 3rd place in the Faculty Oral Health Writing Competition, organised by the Faculty of Dentistry at The University of Hong Kong to celebrate World Oral Health Day.
Vedant dedicated himself to researching how oral health impacts mental well-being, interviewing dental professionals for insights and combining personal anecdotes to create an engaging story for his written piece. He found the experience both rewarding and inspiring.
