To all students - Are you looking to solve the world’s biggest problems through innovation? Or maybe just get a leg up in university applications, or win cool prizes? In any case, the ESF x SDSN x Zester SDG Innovation League is the competition for you.
ESF has teamed up with SDSN, the SDG subcommittee of the United Nations so that ESF students can become changemakers who will solve the world’s biggest problems.

Ethan Donaldson (left), a West Island recent graduate, donated his work of a World War II Diorama to the school.
He had wanted to make something for the school and has always been passionate about history. Independently he had been researching the battle of Hong Kong and decided to make this diorama about it.

Two West Island students, Year 12 Marco Lee and Year 10 Gwyneth Shei, have been selected into the Hockey Hong Kong team. The team has selected a total of 10 boys and 10 girls to represent Hong Kong.
B Grade Girls Badminton team won 3 - 2 against Our Lady of the Rosary College on 4 December 2024. Notable performances by Jasmine Poon (11Y2) who won her singles and doubles matches with partner Angel Yu (10Y2). Sofia Liao (10M2) overcame a slow start falling behind as many as five points but she erased the deficit while building momentum after the turnaround to seal the team's victory.
B Grade Boys Badminton team won their quarter finals game 3 - 1 against Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School on 5 December. WIS won both singles matches courtesy of Isaac Wong (13Y2) and Krishna Mahtani (13H2). The boys dropped a doubles game before Isaac teamed up with Kotick Chan (13Y1) to give WIS the win. With this victory, the boys secured a place in the Final Four on 14 December 2024.
Amika Potgieter in 8Y1, a player of the HKFC won the Youth Rugby U14G league undefeated and also won the grand championship.
Year 7 Chaska Poon finished with the 2nd runner up in his age group in the recent 2024- 2025 Hong Kong Future Cyclists Race
Championship last December.
Year 10 Ila Chan participated in the 2024-2025 Hong Kong Artistic Gymnastics Open & Novice Championships cum International Invitation Championships (Chiu Wai Chung Cup) and was the champion in the Hong Kong Artistic Gymnastics Women Open Junior, among other victories.
